Viewers tuning into I’m A Celebrity 2024 were left disgruntled mere moments into Monday night’s broadcast.

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were back in the jungle to lead the new series, with stars like Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney, and Alan Halsall getting to grips with their exotic environment.

The anticipation peaked when GK Barry was about to tackle the season’s first individual Bushtucker Trial, but frustration ensued as the programme cut to adverts just before the action began.

The poorly-timed commercial breaks annoyed fans, disrupting the build-up of suspense. Viewers took to social media to demand ITV reduce the number of ad interruptions, especially during nail-biting trial moments.

Eager for more uninterrupted jungle drama, fans called on the show’s creators to alter the format. One viewer sarcastically remarked: “Cue the adverts,” while another lamented: “Too many adverts, more ads than actual camp action,” as reported by the Mirror.

Someone else suggested: “Would be so much better without the adverts. More screen time, less adverts = more viewers.”

Another fan complained: ” I’m Sick of it being adverts just as we’re getting to the good bits of the show.”

Amid fans’ concerns that one celebrity might abandon the jungle just days into the series, GK Barry was seen in the launch episode screaming her way through her first jungle ordeal, clearly terrified.

The celebrities had to locate a key hidden in a so-called Hell Hole along the riverbank to secure their getaway. Each of these intimidating holes was filled with various keys and a plethora of creepy crawlies to give them a real taste of jungle life.

GK Barry was filmed in a state of utter panic, wildly waving her arm as she searched for the key while warding off the insects. Her pleas for assistance to Jane Moore resonated until she realised her efforts were in vain as all the boats had already been claimed.

Her dramatic reaction to the critters and challenges led viewers to speculate that GK Barry’s stint in the jungle might be brief. Her own comments only reinforced this notion, with many predicting she’d leave the show within a few days.

One viewer commented: “GK Barry won’t survive 48 hours the rate she’s going.”

Echoing this sentiment, another chimed in: “Either GK Barry Or Colleen will walk out week one trust me,” while a third remarked: “GK Barry isn’t gonna last two days.”

Yet, some fans held out hope for a turnaround, with one declaring: “One episode in and GK Barry is already my winner.”

Another found humour in her plight: “GK Barry is tooo funny,” and a third proclaimed: “GK Barry is my favourite already! Hilarious.” (sic)
