The bar posted on Instagram on Monday, saying its last day in operation will be Nov. 24.

AUSTIN, Texas — Another Rainey Street business is closing its doors.

Icenhaurer’s has been in business since September 2010, but the bar said on social media on Monday that its last day will be Nov. 24.

Icenhaurer’s did not elaborate on why it’s closing, but it isn’t the only bar to shutter in the popular entertainment district over the past few years. Other Rainey Street spots like Reina, Container Bar, Bungalow and Stagger Lee have all closed since 2022.

In a post on the Austin Reddit page, some commenters lamented the loss of Icenhaurer’s as another casualty of a changing area.

“At this point we need to give up on Rainey St. [and] let the towers take over,” one commenter said.

“I haven’t even lived here longer than 3 years and I’ve seen Rainey rapidly turn from cool bungalow bars to completely dead on the weekends,” said another.
