An NYPD officer was shot and wounded in Queens Tuesday night after exchanging gunfire with a suspect, sources told the Daily News.
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Jamaica Ave. and 164th St. in Jamaica.
The cop was shot in the right leg and his wound was not life threatening, the sources said. The suspect died at the scene.
Fellow officers rushed the wounded cop to Jamaica Hospital in a patrol car. His condition was not immediately clear.
