I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! host Declan Donnelly stunned viewers with an unexpected twist on Tuesday’s episode.
Dec, together with his co-host Ant McPartlin, returned for more antics in the latest edition of the hit ITV show. However, Dec threw a curveball during the broadcast, revealing a fresh format change while declaring that celebrity Dean McCullough was set to face a fear-inducing trial.
Chatting away with Ant and the audience, he quipped: “That’s not all, we also got something that’s all new for 2024, never afraid to shake up the format on this show,” reports the Express.
“So when I told Dean that he would be doing the trial, I, wait for it, pointed at him when I said his name.” A flabbergasted Ant expressed his surprise with a simple “wow”, prompting Dec to humorously respond: “I know! Impressive, isn’t it.”
As per tradition in past series of I’m A Celeb, cheeky chappies Ant and Dec keep the banter alive, much to the delight of this year’s viewers. The celebrated Geordie pair has scooped up plaudits for their comedic chops and cheery demeanour.
Commenting on X, previously known as Twitter, one admirer wrote: “Ant and Dec really are the best presenters.” While another fan tweeted: “Ant and Dec really do make #ImACeleb a great and funny show.”
On Tuesday night, radio presenter Dean stepped up to take on The Sinister Sarcophagus challenge, but it proved too overwhelming for him.
Trapped in a mummy figurine that gradually filled with sand, Dean faced a trial of answering questions while sharing the space with creepy crawlies. Despite earning two meals for camp by correctly answering the first two questions, Dean couldn’t complete the trial and exclaimed, “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”
After the harrowing experience, Dean shared with hosts Ant and Dec the unsettling fact that he had lost feeling in his legs. His dramatic departure from the challenge has led viewers, anticipating further trials for him, to already cast their votes for him to join GK Barry in tonight’s ordeal.
Reflecting on Dean’s abrupt exit, one social media user posted, “Oh Dean…. you have just sealed your fate in being voted for every single trial..”
