Singer Liam Payne‘s funeral will take place in the Home Counties today with his One Direction bandmates among the people to pay their respects.
The One Direction star tragically passed away on October 16 at the age of 31 after he fatally fell from the third floor balcony of his hotel room in Argentina, as an autopsy revealed that he suffered internal and external bleeding as a result of the fall.
Liam’s body was flown back home on November 6, following permission from officials in Buenos Aires.
Last week it was announced that three people have been charged in connection to the star’s death in Southern America. They have been charged with “abandonment of a person followed by death” and supply and facilitation of drugs in connection with Liam’s tragic passing, reports the Mirror.
Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik are all expected to be in attendance, alongside Liam’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy, former band manger Simon Cowell and former girlfriend who he shares a son with, Cheryl Cole.
In a joint statement last month on Instagram, One Direction said: “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say.
“But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”
After the tragedy, Liam’s father Geoff flew out to Argentina, to identify his son’s body as well as seeing the various different tributes fans had left outside the hotel. In a statement his family previously said: “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.”
Three people have been charged in connection to the star’s death, as the prosecutors said “exhaustive and meticulous measures were taken to clarify the circumstances” around the dad of one’s death.
The statement said: “Based on the evidence gathered and after analysing the various bodies of proceedings and numerous documentary annexes and the background of the case, prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea formally charged three people, requesting their questioning and arrest in a 180-page ruling presented last Friday to Judge Bruniard.”
One individual was accompanying the singer daily in Argentina and is being charged with abandonment of a person followed by death, which could result in 15-years in jail. The other was an employee at the CasaSur hotel, where Liam was staying, and the third person allegedly supplied the singer with the drugs.

The autopsy established that Liam suffered from “multiple traumas” and “internal and external haemorrhaging”, with 25 injuries that were “consistent with a fall from a great height”.
At the start of the month the prosecutor’s office had revealed from his toxicology test had shown traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in his body. Although they ruled out self-harm or physical intervention by a third party as cause of death.
