As snow and icy conditions continue to hit parts of the country, many Brits will be looking for ways to keep warm amidst the lower temperatures.

To help save on heating bills, the main advice has been to “heat the human, not the home”. One of the best ways to do this is to invest in a heated throw, with one on Amazon being hailed as “better than central heating.”

It’s the Dreamcatcher Luxurious Grey Heated Throw that has thousands of reviews from impressed shoppers looking to keep warm for less. Even better, it has been reduced from £59.99 to £39.99 – saving £20 and 33 percent off the RRP.

This 160x120cm blanket is large enough to cuddle up under on the sofa when chilling at home. It comes with nine adjustable temperature settings that are said to keep you “toasty warm in minutes”.

Even without the heat settings, it has been crafted from a “luxurious” fabric that shoppers say feels like being “wrapped in a cuddly warm cloud”. Whether you need a bit extra heat in bed or at your home work desk, this heated throw will keep you nice and warm amidst the current weather.

Not only is it super soft and toasty warm, but it is also energy-saving as well. Said to offer a running cost “as low as 3p per hour”, it is a significantly cheaper alternative to racking up the bills by heating the whole household.

Nearly 5,000 Amazon shoppers have left the Dreamcatcher Luxurious Heated Throw with a five-star review, as they say that it is “very cosy” and has helped them to “save on heating”.

One five-star review read: “This is the best throw I have ever had. My cat loves it. The only thing is I am a small person and the throw is the size of a single bed so I have to fold it in two. But apart from that, I like to be able to use the different temperatures and times.

“It’s very soft and cosy. I shall never be cold again and it saves on the central heating which is important to me as I am on a pension, being 76 years old. I definitely recommend it.”

A second review read: “I tried a different heated blanket before this one and ended up returning it as it wasn’t warm at all. Then did some research and bought this one. It’s fantastic. Hot if you want, warm for hours if that’s better, comfy, good size for one And just about does two also. Better than central heating.”

Someone else said: “Love this thing. I have had three and they are all still going strong after two years. Saves so much on heating as if we feel a chill we pop these on and we are toasty warm in minutes. Great variety of settings and the material is super nice. Easy to wash as well with no issues with the connector after. They pay for themselves.”

Another shopper agreed: “Everyone should have one for winter. Super cosy, what can I say, save on the heating bills and wrap up in one of these, very economical and comfy.”

One shopper who was a little underwhelmed with the heat distribution and appearance left a three-star review that read: “Texture, feel and appearance are more like that of a luxury bath towel than a nice blanket.

“Heats up well but is unevenly distributed. Ok for the price, I was going to leave it out in my lounge but now I’ll keep it as backup for guests. Not nice looking enough to leave out, I’m afraid.”
