A man was stabbed Wednesday after a brawl on a Manhattan street just blocks from Madison Square Garden — the latest in a string of troubling knife attacks around the city.
The victim, whose name was not released, got into a fight at W. 34th St. and Eighth Ave. around 4:32 p.m. with a man dressed all in black — from his hat to his shoes. The stabber slashed the victim in his right forearm, lower back and right leg, and fled north on Eighth Ave., cops said
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Police said it was unclear what triggered the fight.
The bloodshed comes in the wake of a shocking stabbing spree Monday, when Ramon Rivera was arrested for sneaking up on and fatally stabbing three people in random attacks across Manhattan.
Also on Monday, Nestor Padilla, 48, was fatally stabbed in the Bronx in front of a building near Marion Ave. and E. 194th St. around 11:42 a.m. Cops arrested Junior Ovalles, 35, three blocks from clash and charged him with the stabbing and weapons possession.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday around 10:23 a.m., a 55-year-old tourist from Denmark was slashed in the face after a man rushed up behind him and stabbed the visitor on W. 86th St. near Columbus Ave. on the Upper West Side. The tourist was in stable condition at Mount Sinai Morningside. Police ask that anyone with information call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
