Ant McPartlin, who became a father for the first time in May, was spotted beaming as he took his baby son for a walk Down Under yesterday. The host of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is currently in Australia filming the latest series of the ITV show.
After celebrating his 49th birthday earlier this week, Ant looked every inch the proud dad as he and wife Anne-Marie enjoyed some downtime during a break from filming.
Looking tanned and relaxed, Ant stepped out in sunglasses, a red and white Nike top and navy shorts, while Anne-Marie, 46, looked stylish in a cream co-ord set paired with matching sandals and dark sunglasses.
Despite likely experiencing some sleepless nights recently, Ant has previously described the past year as ‘the best’. It’s no secret that he’s long wanted to become a father, reports the Mirror.
When Wilder was born in May, he expressed his joy at finally becoming a dad on Instagram. Sharing a black-and-white photo of his newborn son, he said: “Welcome to the family.”
Introducing his son to the world, Ant added: “Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess. (sic)”.
Ant had previously tried to start a family with his ex-wife, makeup expert Lisa Armstrong, but it wasn’t meant to be.
In a candid chat with Radio Times, while still together with Lisa, Ant shared his desires for fatherhood: “Lisa and I would love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.”
The famous pair went their separate ways in 2018 after 11 years of marriage, with Ant’s relationship with Anne-Marie surfacing not long after. In current times, Ant seems to be over the moon, having recently told the Daily Star: ” I’m really good, I’m really happy. There are lots of nappies and sleepless nights but it’s absolutely wonderful.”
Meanwhile, on last night’s episode of ‘I’m A Celebrity’, Ant appeared less than pleased. He and co-host Declan Donnelly seemed notably displeased with how the campmates fared in the latest Bushtucker Trial, managing to win no stars just a day after Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough bowed out of his trial early.
Dean was again chosen by the public for the Drown In The Dumps challenge alongside social media influencer and podcast host GK Barry. As they struggled through a challenge involving snakes, eels, securing keys and unlocking padlocks under rising water levels, they couldn’t bag any stars for camp.
When the trial concluded, Ant’s dissatisfaction was evident; he was seen making faces at the unsuccessful duo. Viewers were quick to comment that he had “lost his cool” and appeared “angry” due to the frustration with the participants’ performance.
Ant was questioned about his reaction during the trial on the spin-off series Unpacked. He criticised the stars for “not even trying” during the Bushtucker Trials, venting: “If you can’t do it then you can’t do it, but just get on with it! Try it, just try it. There was a lot of not trying for several minutes.”
