People have been left awe-struck by the transformation of a rescue cat, one year on from being taken off the streets.
Stunning before-and-after photos showing the feline‘s journey were shared on the r/BeforeNAfterAdoption forum on Reddit.
The post showcased two striking photos – one depicting the cat hiding underneath a car looking gaunt and marked, and the other portraying him rejuvenated, luxuriously sprawled near a climbing frame while sporting a plush coat. The post received more than 2,800 upvotes, accompanied by comments expressing amazement at the feline’s revival.
One person remarked: “The difference in him under the tire vs sprawling like a king on his throne. Looking so very relaxed. It’s like your little guy had lost his spirit and you helped him get it back. Thank you kind human.” Another enthused: “What a transformation! I’m so glad you could give him the life he deserves!”
Explaining further in another thread, the person who shared the pictures – based in South Korea – said they had taken him to several vets who told them he was between four to eight-years-old. They also confirmed that, according to the woman who the cat now lives with, he is perfectly healthy.
This comes after a missing Scottish cat was found 300 miles away in England after “going for a wander”. Beans, a ginger and white cat from Cumbernauld, went AWOL from his home after going out “as normal”.
Owners Cara, 40, and Colin McBurnie, 51, searched the local area to no avail, but weeks later in November they received a surprise call from Cats Protection saying thanks to his microchip he had been found in Coventry.
Cara said: “Beans loves to be outside and in gardens. He went out as normal because he likes to go for a wander but always comes home for some food, usually after a few hours.
“We searched and searched, looking everywhere. I’ve been out every day looking but thought something must have happened to him. I didn’t really expect to see him again but joined lots of local lost and found Facebook pages, then further afield in Scotland.
“I didn’t think to look in England, I didn’t imagine he could have gone that far.”
