(CNN) – Just in time for the holiday travel season, American Airlines is rolling out technology that shames those who cut in line during the boarding process.

The airline says passengers who try to board before their assigned group is called will set off an error beep, alerting the gate agent. It will be loud enough for other passengers in line to hear the beep.

The technology was tested over the last month in three airports, and there was positive feedback on it.

American is now rolling out the technology to over 100 airports, including at the world’s busiest airport in passenger traffic – Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International.

The carrier plans to expand it to additional hubs later.

American says it plans to fly more than 8 million passengers over the Thanksgiving holiday period.
