WHITESBURG, Ky. (WKYT) – A Kentucky sheriff accused of killing a judge in his chambers has been indicted for murder.
A grand jury returned a murder charge against now-former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines, 43, on Thursday.
Stines is accused of shooting and killing Judge Kevin Mullins inside Mullins’ office on September 19.
He pleaded not guilty in an arraignment on September 25.
His new arraignment is set for Monday, November 25.
