Emergency services raced to a Scots street on Thursday night after a strong smell of gas sparked fears of a third chemical leak at the site.
Residents of Burnbank Street complained of a “horrendous” smell of gas coming from Northburn Industrial Estate.
Multiple fire crews and police were alerted to the scene at Cameron Street shortly after 11pm.
Scottish Fire and Rescue said today there were no casualties and the area was made safe.
It’s the third time emergency services have been called to the industrial estate in just over two weeks.
A chemical spill locked down Cameron Street on November 14 and on November 5, four people were treated by paramedics following an evacuation.
Locals hit out over the “horrendous” smell on Thursday night.
Taking to social media, one resident said: “Just passed it. Four fire engines as well as police. The smell is horrendous.”
Another wrote: “Smell is terrible when came home, smells of gas.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.07pm on Thursday, November 21, to reports of a smell of gas on Cameron Street in Coatbridge.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and a specialist unit to the scene.
“There were no casualties, and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
Police Scotland confirmed they attended after receiving a report of a smell of gas at Burnbank Street, adding that there was “no requirement for further police involvement”.
