MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – One of Mercer County’s own is celebrating a major achievement in her post-secondary education career.

Regan Cochran, is a name many longtime viewers of WVVA Today may recognize, the West Virginia native making frequent appearances on WVVA’s Friday Tunes segments.

The alum of Princeton Senior High School currently attends WVU’s School of Medicine. The school sharing on social media the second year medical student was recently accepted into WVU’s Anesthesiology Residency Program through ‘Matter Track.’

‘Matter Track is a program which allows students, like Cochran, to complete medical school in three years instead of the traditional four.

Prior to working on her post-secondary education career in medicine, the Mercer County native was heavily involved in area’s music scene often working with Stages Music School and the One Voice Project.
