LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – A 2-month-old boy is dead after being exposed to the drug methamphetamine, according to Colorado law enforcement.

The Lakewood Police Department shared details of the case on social media on Thursday, explaining that the child’s mother and her boyfriend were arrested.

Officers were called to a home along the 500 block of Vance Street to reports of an unresponsive infant on July 26.

When police arrived, they found the 2-month-old dead.

“The Jefferson County Coroner’s Officer determined that 2-month-old Ezra Johnson died due to methamphetamine toxicity,” police added.

The child’s mother, 31-year-old Lisa Marie Johnson, is suspected of first-degree murder. Johnson’s boyfriend, 33-year-old Alexander Avila, is facing the same charge.
