Fans of I’m A Celebrity were caught off guard on Sunday’s episode when hosts Ant and Dec paused the show to deliver an important update.
Returning on Sunday screens, the much-anticipated ITV programme saw the duo once again overseeing events in the iconic Aussie jungle, where a fresh set of celebs are enduring bush life this year.
The 2021 line-up boasts names such as Tulisa, Oti Mabuse, Jane Moore, Danny Jones, and Dean McCullough, alongside Coleen Rooney, GK Barry and Melvin Odoom, all vying for the revered title of Jungle Monarch.
In a twist during the episode, Ant and Dec unveiled the next Bushtucker challenge dubbed Jack and The Scream-Stalk, which requires a daring contestant to scale precarious heights for sought-after stars.
This time, however, viewers were informed they won’t have the power to vote for two usual contenders. Dec explained to those watching: “Reverend Richard and Tulisa are ruled out of this one on medical grounds.”, reports the Express.
Social media was soon buzzing with reactions, as one fan commented: First medical grounds of the series. Meanwhile another expressed disappointment: Rev Richard and Tulisa ruled out of the heights trial on medical grounds oh no so it begins!
Others expressed their discontent with phrases like: “The abysmal ‘Ruled out on Medical Grounds’ is back.” While someone else remarked about the series witnessing its “First medical exception of the season.” Another penned: “I am gutted that Tulisa was ruled out on medical grounds for tomorrow’s trial.”
Elsewhere in Sunday’s adventure, Dean and Coleen tackled the task named ‘Absolute Carnage’, involving one locked at the back of a ute in a bid to gather stars. The celebrities were tasked with a challenge that involved intricate fastenings, each requiring a unique tool to be unlocked. One star had the duty of rummaging through the garage for these tools and then passing them to their partner stationed at the back of the ute.
Dean took on the scavenger role, leaving Coleen to work from the back of the ute. Their teamwork paid off as they secured 9 stars for the camp. Ant and Dec were impressed by their performance, remarking to Coleen: “you were very calm, very quiet, you just got on with it.”
To which Coleen responded: “Yeah that is my way of coping, silence, the silent treatment.” Meanwhile, Dean confessed that the task helped him overcome his fear of fish guts, despite being drenched in them.
