Dumfries and Galloway curlers have narrowly missed out on a fifth European Championship.
Kirkgunzeon’s Grant Hardie and the Stranraer duo of Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jnr were part of Bruce Mouat’s men’s rink at the Le Gruyere AOP European Championships.
They made it to the final at Lohja’s Kiskallio Sports Centre in Finland only to be beaten by Germany.
The Scotland women’s rink featured Sophie Jackson of Dumfries, with Dumfries’ Fay Henderson listed as alternate.
And they also returned home with a medal after beating Italy in the bronze medal match.
The men’s rink had won the championship four times out of four and topped the round-robin group stage with eight wins and just one defeat.
That put them into the semi-finals, a 10-8 win over Switzerland setting up a final with Germany.
It was a tense affair, with the German team taking a narrow 9-7 win.
Scotland’s women finished third in their group with six wins and three defeats.
They lost 6-4 to Sweden in the semi-finals before a 6-4 win over Italy gave them the bronze medal.
