A man has been rushed to hospital after rescue teams were called to the River Clyde near Bothwell Bridge on Monday morning.
Water rescue, a force helicopter and multiple emergency service crews were drafted in following reports of concern for a person in Hamilton on Monday morning.
Bothwell Bridge was closed off with eye-witnesses claiming police officers were looking over the bridge into the water.
Police have now confirmed a man was rescued from the River Clyde and taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
His condition is not yet known.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a person in the River Clyde near Bothwell Bridge in Hamilton around 11.15am on Monday, November 25.
“Emergency services attended and a man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service were contacted for comment.
