BECKLEY, W.Va. – A Beckley man pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl, the Department of Justice announced.
The Department of Justice said 43-year-old Michael Reynard Penn sold around 27 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant at his house in Beckley.
Penn admitted to the sale, and selling fentanyl to the informant three other times between August and Sept. 2023, according to the Department of Justice.
Upon executing a search warrant at Penn’s house, the Department of Justice said officers found cocaine, marijuana, a Ruger .380-caliber pistol and $4,889.
Penn is scheduled to be sentenced on March 28, 2025 and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a one-million-dollar fine.
