There is still time to you to help hard-up families across the Wishaw area this Christmas.
Since 2021, the town’s Pathway Church have partnered with MADE4U IN ML2 on their annual community Christmas Toy Drive to help children in the ML2 area.
And this year it is hoped to provide even more toys to hard-up families as the cost of living crisis continues to deepen.
The church has already opened its Sparkle and Shine shop provides preloved Christmas jumpers, party outfits and PJs available for kids up to 14 years for any families who would benefit from this.
And the closing date for the toy drive is Friday, November 29.
Gillian Davie is one of the church volunteers helping with this year’s appeal.
She said: “Our Sparkle and Shine shop has been a great success with over 100 families coming along.
“It was really busy. We had put a post up on social media and it had viewed 11,000 times so we weren’t sure how many people would be there.
“It’s a shame that we have to do this but we have been really pleased with the response from the public.
“We have had some great support from local businesses and community groups. Asda in Newmains have a trolley set up for us and we have had two deliveries from it.
“If people were able to donate anything to the toy drive it would really be appreciated.
“With the generous support of local donors we have helped over 1170 children to the end of 2023.”
There are two drop-off locations this year. The first is the Pathway Church Hub, Unit 3, 14 King Street, or the MADE4U premises in Greenfield Drive.
