Lorraine Kelly was left surprised as a beloved member of her family joined her ITV show.
The 64-year-old Scottish host gasped: “Ohh Ruby, on no, ohh Ruby. Hello my baby,” as her daughter Rosie Smith’s miniature Dachshund came galloping onto her show modelling a Christmas Pudding jacket as part of the fashion show segment.
On the programme, they had been exploring the idea of reusing a glittery jumper from previous years and popping with different attire to achieve a totally different style for this years festivities.
As a model made her way onto the set, Lorraine glanced down noticing a familiar four legged friend who had seemingly unbeknown to her taken up a starring role in Tuesday’s (26 November) fashion piece.
The waggy tailed dog made her way straight into Lorraine’s arms and began to lick her face as the TV star gushed: “Ohh you look beautiful darling, that’s a lovely wee outfit.”
Later on, Lorraine cleared up that she had brought Ruby into the studio, explaining that she was on babysitting duty. Speaking to their fashion expert about the pooch being with her, the presenter explained: “I’m just playing Granny really, I’m just looking after her for the day.”
It’s been quite a year for Lorraine and her every-growing brood as her daughter Rosie, welcomed a baby-girl into their Scottish clan. Billie Kelly Smith-White made arrived safe and sound back in August and her famous granny couldn’t be prouder.
Previously in an interview with Hello! Lorraine told the publication that it felt as though she’d never not known baby Billie. Talking about meeting her first grandchild, she said: “It’s been fantastic, absolutely wonderful.”
She added “You have that unconditional love. [her husband] Steve and I went to see Rosie in the hospital to meet Billie, and I felt I had known her my whole life. She’s absolutely beautiful, just gorgeous.
The ITV host went on to chime praises for her daughter who had just become a new mum. She hailed: “Rosie is brilliant – I knew she would be. She’s taken to it so well.”
Last month, baby Billie and her daughter made their first TV appearance alongside their famous TV granny which was warmly welcomed by adoring fans of the show.
The appearance was a full circle moment for Lorraine’s family, as it marked 30 years since she first brought Rosie onto GMTV, all those years ago.
During the introduction of Lorraine’s first grandchild, Rosie opened up about her own postpartum struggles, detailing the anxiety she had faced as a new mum but also described Billie as a “dream baby”.
