Davina McCall’s representative has quashed rumours that she is planning to tie the knot with long-term partner Michael Douglas following her brain surgery.
The 57-year-old TV star is currently in recovery after an operation to remove a benign tumour. While Davina has been taking time out to rest, her partner and hairstylist Michael, aged 49, has been updating fans on her recovery.
Claims had surfaced suggesting Davina was ready to walk down the aisle with Michael after he provided exceptional support during her recuperation. However, this morning, representatives for Davina dismissed these claims to Reach PLC.
A source speaking to Closer magazine commented: “It’s been a life changing couple of days for Davina. She now wants to do everything on her bucket list and more. First off, yes, she’ll marry Michael.”
The same insider noted: “There have been a lot of tears, but Michael has been a pillar of strength – taking charge of the kids and looking after Davina as she recovers. It has made her think that marriage could be on the cards.”
Another source conveyed to Heat magazine: “This is her second chance and pals wouldn’t be surprised if she married Michael very soon. But right now, her top priority is her recovery.”
Davina first met Michael when he worked as her stylist during her Big Brother days. At that time, the presenter was married to her now ex-husband Matthew Robertson.
The presenter shares three children with Matthew—Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18. Davina and Michael remained friends until 2019, embarking on a romantic relationship two years after her split from Matthew.
Davina previously revealed a poignant life event that signalled the end of her marriage, as reported by Closer. Following the death of her sister Caroline in 2012, Davina realised she was leading a “completely separate” life from her then-husband Matthew.

In an emotional post-surgery message, she wrote: “Hey! ! ! … thank you . For the messages . It’s meant the world . Just want to thank @mdlondon, who gets the best boyfriend ever award. Voted for by me and everyone that knows us.”
She continued: “I am feeling much better. Had a great night’s sleep in my own bed.
“Have a couple of sleeps during the day which keeps my brain clear… slowly slowly… huge gratitude, and love for the world and my life and the beautiful people in it.”
