Singer Amy Macdonald has called out the BBC over their Scottish football coverage for “too much discussion about s****.”
The ‘Open All Mics’ radio show has been a staple of the game on a matchday with commentary feeding into the studio from grounds across the country – but broadcaster Graham Spiers opened a discussion about the programme and the BBC’s Sportsound output on X. He quizzed: “I’m hosting a podcast discussion today about BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound programme. Do Scottish football fans enjoy it or not? Is the coverage engaging or off-putting? Please send me your thoughts here.”
‘This Is the Life’ songstress Macdonald – who is married to regular BBC pundit and former Rangers and Aberdeen star Richard Foster – responded: “I love Open All Mics but it’s too much discussion about s**** the now. The constant wanting to have arguments instead of just hearing what’s going on at all the grounds is annoying personally. That show should just be about what’s happening there and then.
“And I used to like hearing the interviews from the managers around the grounds at the end but we now hear from fans which is fine but I’d rather hear direct from the source rather than what someone in the stand thinks.”
