A pedestrian was hit and injured in the crash.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating after a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian in South Austin on Saturday.

The incident happened around 6:35 p.m. on Nov. 23 in the 7800 block of S. First St., just north of the intersection with West Dittmar Road and near the Thicket Food Park.

Police said the driver of a small black sedan, possibly a 2019-2023 Toyota Corolla, hit a vehicle and a pedestrian before fleeing the scene without rendering aid.

The pedestrian was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The suspect car will have front-end collision damage and will be missing the passenger-side mirror, APD said.
