Ruth Langsford is set to join the I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked crew in Australia.

After weeks of speculation, the Loose Women presenter confirmed her involvement on Instagram, revealing she’ll be supporting her co-stars GK Barry and Jane Moore, who are both currently battling it out to become Queen of the Jungle.

Ruth shared a video showcasing her travel hacks, packing essentials, and compressing her clothes, and has since been spotted making the long-haul journey Down Under. She has since landed and can been seen in pictures obtained by the Mirror.

Previous guests on the ITV2 spin-off show include Coronation Street star Colson Smith, who chatted with ITV2 presenters Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson, and Kemi Rodgers.

This new venture comes after Ruth seemingly took a subtle swipe at her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes earlier this week. The 64-year-old TV star announced the end of her 14-year marriage to Eamonn, 64, in May, after over two decades together.

According to The Daily Mail, Ruth appeared to take a subtle dig at her ex, who is now dating Katie Alexander, in a recent post, stating she’s “happy” post-split. The publication reports that Ruth shared a photo of her lunch, consisting of tomatoes, avocados, and olives, on her Instagram Stories on Sunday.

The snapshot featured more than just smiles; it also showcased a mug with “happy” proudly displayed across it. Accompanied by the tune “Brunch Time” by Hello EMC, the post was simply captioned: “Yum.”

A source recently spilled to The Sun about Ruth’s choice to join the I’m A Celeb spin-off as a step towards healing from her challenging year.

The insider revealed: “It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward, she’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.”

They mentioned that Ruth will not only be backing Jane but also sharing her own takes on the jungle happenings. “The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost,” the source asserted.

Ruth’s friend Jane faced a Bushtucker Trial on Tuesday (November 26) with Maura Higgins, an event Jane’s children claimed she had eagerly anticipated since her arrival in camp.

Upon their arrival Down Under, Jane’s offspring remarked: “She’s wanted to do a trial since the beginning. I think she’s going to absolutely smash it.”

Yet, they disclosed that a water-based challenge would be Jane’s nightmare, despite ironically being the very trial they secured for her: “Probably something with water [would be the worst], which happens to be the one we’ve got her into, but she asked for it.”

I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked airs weeknights on ITV2 and after I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1
