Social media sensation GK Barry has been captivating a whole new fanbase as she appears on this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
Despite her initial fears upon entering the wild, Grace has won over viewers with her wit and prowess in Bushtucker trials.
This week, audiences were treated to a heartwarming exchange between Grace and her campmate, Reverend Richard Coles, as an unexpected friendship began to flourish.
Body language expert Inball Hongiman has now disclosed his belief that the connection between them is authentic and not just for show.
Representing Slingo, he stated: “GK Barry and Rev Richard Coles are truly enjoying getting to know each other in the jungle, and are not just playing up their friendship for the cameras, their body language says.”
OK! reports how the expert observed that Grace’s crossed leg towards the Reverend signifies her comfort and authenticity around him.
Hongiman further noted that the duo exhibit matching body language which demonstrates their close relationship.
He elaborated: “At the same time, he’s leaning towards her, letting her know that he’s happy being close to her. There’s no judgment between the two campmates. When they laugh together, it’s the same laugh as each other.”
“Both Grace and Richard are pulling their necks back in an open-mouth, double-chin, hearty, belly laugh which is entirely genuine and can’t be faked. A belly laugh shows that their defences are down, and isn’t often shared between strangers.”
“Even though GK Barry is the youngest contestant, and Rev Coles is one of the most mature, their burgeoning friendship is real and true.”
“Neither of them is playing the fame game, they’re both there to have an interesting experience, meaning their expectations are aligned with one another and they can communicate openly as if there are no cameras.”
Social media personality Grace made her jungle debut from day one alongside nine other stars, battling it out to become the camp’s first leaders.
Loose Women’s fellow panellist selected her for the challenge, but ultimately, they were bested by Tulisa Contostavlos and Alan Halsall.
Meanwhile, Reverend Richard came into the picture later, arriving with Maura Higgins as they were relegated to the so-called ‘jungle junkyard’.
The two were charged with the deceit of making the junkyard out to be ghastly, while unbeknownst to others, they relished hidden luxuries including a double bed, mini fridge, and a stove.
I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed by I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked after the main show on ITV2.
