Lindsay Lohan graces the screen once more with her latest festive film on Netflix, following her hit Falling for Christmas from two years back.

This time around, the famed star of Mean Girls portrays Avery in a Christmas rom-com, as she inadvertently finds herself celebrating the holidays with ex-flame Logan (played by Ian Harding).

In a twist of fate, Avery and Logan discover that their respective partners are kin, sparking some hilariously uncomfortable festive moments as they attempt to hide their previous affair, meanwhile questioning whether old feelings may reignite.

Netflix’s Our Little Secret, available to stream starting from today (November 27), provides perfect cheer with the holiday season looming.

The story’s originality and stellar cast list, including Broadway legend Kristen Chenoweth, Lohan’s Mean Girls co-star Tim Meadows, and Henry Czerny known for Mission: Impossible, has viewers praising it as among the newly crowned Queen of Christmas best endeavours, reports the Express.

A fan shared their pleasure on X (formerly Twitter): “Proper rom com Netflix’s Our Little Secret is. I’m sat here happy and crying at the ending.

“Proper if they are the one they’ll always come back no matter where life takes you along the way you’ll always come back together. and I’m so glad FINALLY a proper old rom com!”

Movie enthusiasts on the film-focused social site Letterboxd are buzzing with excitement, sharing their opinions on the platform. One movie lover said: “Definitely the best of the three Netflix/Lindsay Lohan collaborations. Our Little Secret feels like a throwback to old school romcoms in the best sense and makes for a pretty delightful Christmas romcom.

“Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding are both really good and have great chemistry together. They play off each other very well and you’re rooting for them to end up with each other by the end.

“The stacked supporting cast is a lot of fun too with Kristen Chenoweth and Henry Czerny stealing the show.”

Another film aficionado simply put it: “How a Christmas romcom should be.”

And a devoted fan expressed their support: “Lindsay Lohan deserves all the rom com leads.”

However, critical opinions have been more mixed, leading some to ponder if Lohan’s latest entry into the romantic comedy genre is just a case of being so bad that it’s actually good

Variety didn’t hold back calling the film a “cringe-fest” elaborating: “It’s mainstream fodder as downgraded camp. It’s pablum so numbing it makes you feel good.

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription to Sky Stream members, saving £119.76 over the 24-month term.

Sky Stream lets members watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes hit shows like The Penguin and the upcoming second season of Squid Game.

Yet, not all reviews were lukewarm; the pop culture website But Why Tho? offered a positive angle, praising Our Little Secret as “not-so-secretly great”.

They wrote: “Of the four holiday romance films Netflix has released this month, this one is the most well-rounded. While each one has the respective tropes they follow, Our Little Secret isn’t as obvious about the checkboxes on the list.

“Amid its slippery slope of lies, it takes unexpected twists and turns, granting the formula a fresh feeling. And because of the groundwork done from its opening animated sequence, the final romance at the end feels the most earned and realized, which should satisfy romance viewers.”

Are you planning to watch the film and see if you agree with the critics?
