Rangers fans with seats in the home end of OGC Nice’s ground are having their tickets cancelled.

A number of Rangers supporters who weren’t able to get official away end tickets for the crunch Europa League clash at the Allianz Riviera Stadium on Thursday purchased seats in the home end instead, but some are now receiving emails from the French side cancelling orders – saying that they “understand” the disappointment and “apologise for the inconvenience.”

The decision could leave hundreds of Gers supporters in the south of France unable to watch Philippe Clement’s side – and fans who booked home seats are being urged to check their emails. An email, posted on social media by a fan who had bought a seat in the B2 section of the stadium, read: “We would like to inform you that due to circumstances beyond the Club’s control, and taking into account various factors including your position within the stadium, OGC Nice is forced to cancel your reservation for Thursday evening’s match. Your ticket will be automatically refunded in full as soon as possible.”

It continues: “We understand your disappointment and apologize for this inconvenience. We would like to stress that access to the match will unfortunately not be possible with the cancelled ticket, and that OGC Nice cannot be held responsible in this respect. Thank you for your understanding.”
