BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – A woman was rescued from a Bluefield house fire and airlifted to a burn center.

According to the Bluefield, Virginia Fire Department, the fire happened at 7:23 a.m. on Nov. 27 at 100 Aden Street in Bluefield. When units first searched the scene, the Fire Department said they found an unresponsive woman on the floor.

The woman was taken out of the house and to a local medical facility before eventually being airlifted to a burn center, the Fire Department said.

The Bluefield, Virginia Fire Department said several family pets died in the fire.

Virginia State Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
