PRINCETON, W.Va. – The Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard Post 54 has been honoring fallen soldiers for over twenty years.

No matter what the weather holds, they stand tall representing our country and those who have fought to protect our freedoms as they are laid to rest.

The Chaplin for the honor guard says they’re in need of newer members.

They want veterans to know it’s a volunteer-based group that provides all necessary items.

“We’re a gracious family. We get together, have fun like brothers, just love each and everybody here, and like I said, the family that we represent, I know some of them and it’s really touching. Sometimes you’ll see me shed a tear or two, but for these guys right here, this is one of the best crews that I’ve ever been around, and I love them all,” said Don Lambert, Chaplin for Mercer County Honor Guard.

If you’re qualified and interested in joining the group or you want more information you can call (704) 562-3718 or (304) 922-2461.
