CalMac have cancelled sailings between Troon and Brodick today (Thursday, November 29) following a “technical issue” with the MV Alfred.
Engineers have been called following a gearbox issue with the catamaran which is chartered by CalMac from Pentland Ferries to run sailings to Arran from the mainland.
Sailings between Ardrossan and Brodick are running as normal and CalMac expect an update on the MV Alfred by 2pm this afternoon (Thursday).
A spokesperson for CalMac said: “Due to a technical issue with MV Alfred’s gearbox the Troon-Brodick service has been cancelled.
“Contractors have been arranged to attend the vessel and an update on the progress of repairs will be provided at approximately 2pm.”
