WWE have announced that John Cena will make an appearance at the next Elimination Chamber for the “last time ever” as part of his farewell wrestling tour.

Taking place in Toronto on March 1, 2025, the veteran performer – and one of the most decorated wrestlers in the history of the industry – is set to grace the canvas for one of the last times. After gradually winding down his in-ring bouts over the last few years, the 47-year-old has been wrestling only occasionally – and just once in 2024 so far.

Cena announced that 2025 will be his last year and will work around 40 dates. He has thus far been confirmed for Raw’s Netflix premiere, the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 41 and now Elimination Chamber. On their social media channels, WWE wrote: “The time is NOW! Don’t miss John Cena’s LAST TIME EVER in Toronto at Elimination Chamber. Elimination Chamber emanates from Toronto, Canada on March 1st.”

The writing may have been on the wall for some time, but the star finally made it official at Money in the Bank back in the summer, saying: “I officially announce my retirement from the WWE. I have been doing this a while, I’ve been in WWE for over two decades. And in that time, I’ve seen incredible waves of prosperity like we’ve got right now… WWE is the hottest ticket in town, no doubt.”

WWE’s next Royal Rumble takes place at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. It’s likely to be the company’s first Premium Live Event to air on Netflix – the streaming giant has taken the US broadcast rights for Raw from January, but will air all WWE programming and events in the UK.
