MINERVA, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – Cooking Thanksgiving dinner unfortunately did not go as planned for a Minerva resident trying to fry a turkey.

Minerva Fire Chief Aaron Stoller said crews were called to a home on West Southview Street at about 11:15 a.m. on Thursday for a structure fire.

First responders arrived to find the home’s garage on fire, Stoller said.

According to Stoller, flames were coming from a turkey fryer that was inside the garage.

Firefighters moved the fryer out of the garage and quickly extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported in the fire which took about five minutes to extinguish.
