A drug dealer has been jailed for 16 months after cocaine worth £10,000 was found in an East Kilbride hotel room.
Kyle McCulloch, 21, of Kirkton Drive, Eaglesham, admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug.
He appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court alongside Yusef Khan, 22, who admitted the same charge.
The cocaine was seized at Premier Inn, Lees Burn Court, on June 1 last year.
Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said McCulloch checked in to the hotel as a guest about 3.15pm on the day in question.
She told the court: “Staff raised concerns regarding how many people were going to and from his room.
“Police officers attended about 9pm. They found a big bag that contained 189 snap bags, each with 0.3g of cocaine.
“Five bags, each containing 25g of cocaine, were found inside a kettle.
“Later the accused Khan was linked to the drugs by his fingerprints.”
The court heard McCulloch has a previous conviction for dealing drugs and two convictions for possession, but Khan, of Lismore Place, Newton Mearns, has no drugs offences on his record.
Sheriff John Hamilton placed Khan under social work supervision for 18 months and ordered him to do 300 hours of unpaid community work.
He was also given an electronic tagging order, banning him from leaving his home between 8pm and 6am each day for six months.
