Fans of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! have rallied in support of Oti Mabuse after the star shared her experiences with online negativity.
In the episode aired on Saturday (November 30), the Strictly Come Dancing professional engaged in a heartfelt conversation with fellow contestant Coleen Rooney about expanding her family.
Coleen, a well-known WAG, asked Oti if she had thought about having more children following the birth of her first child in 2023. This question led Oti to discuss her encounters with internet ‘trolls’ upon returning to work.
She revealed: “When I had my daughter, I went back to work, I did Dancing on Ice and she was 8 weeks and the amount of messages and trolling from women who were like ‘stay home with your baby’ ‘why are you out? ‘ and I was just like, it’s my choice”, reports the Express.
Coleen quickly backed her campmate, stating: “On the outside world you can’t win, everyone has got an opinion. I always say don’t take it to heart because every individual is different.”
Viewers also took to X, previously known as Twitter, to voice their support for the 34-year-old.
One user wrote: “Love the discussion between Oti and Coleen about motherhood and deciding whether to be a working mother or a housewife raising the kids is refreshing to see. Everyone’s different and everyone’s circumstances are different, so let people be and just do you boo boo.”
Another fan expressed: “Love Oti #imacelebrity2024 she is a queen and should be protected at all costs”, while a third echoed: “Protect Oti at all costs.”
Another viewer expressed their support, writing: “Not okay with Oti getting any type of negativity or trolling. She’s so positive and down to earth #ImACeleb.”
A fourth fan chimed in: “I can’t believe people troll Oti for working! ! She’s showing her daughter that women can both work and have a family if that’s what they want to do. It’s even more disappointing that it was women doing that. Dumb******. #ImACeleb”.
A fifth admirer appreciated the open conversation: “Oti and Coleen talking important subjects again. About how to be a working mam and how to ignore the trolls. I Love how deep this year’s campmates have been with talking about important subjects #imaceleb.”
After Jane Moore’s departure on Friday night, viewers were taken aback when Ant and Dec revealed that no one would be exiting the show on Saturday, leaving 11 campmates still in the jungle.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
