Viewers of Sunday Brunch were taken aback this weekend when a guest seemed to ‘turn blue’ on the show. Hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer returned to Channel 4 on December 1, welcoming guests such as Rick Astley, Mark Gatiss, Lauren Mayberry, Holly Johnson, and Twinnie.

Musician Twinnie sparked intrigue when her hands appeared to change colour. Observant viewers took to social media platform X to discuss the unusual occurrence.

One queried: “Why are hands so blue? #sundaybrunch.” Another remarked: “#SundayBrunch why are Twinnies hands a strange colour?”

A viewer questioned: “Are Twinnie’s hands covered in black or blue dye? ! #sundaybrunch.” And another posted: “What is going on with Twinny’s grey hands? #sundaybrunch.”

During the programme, Twinnie donned a dark denim strapless top adorned with white polka dots, which seems to have dyed her hands, reports the Mirror.

In other parts of the show, Tim Lovejoy informed his guests that those born under the “Libra star sign” were not welcome on the programme.

The 56-year-old presenter was only minutes into the show when he awkwardly started asking the guests about their dietary preferences before quickly switching to star signs.

He asked each guest to disclose their birth sign, but when he reached singer Lauren Mayberry, he unveiled an “odd” show secret.

As Lauren disclosed: “I’m a Libra,” both Tim and Simon began to grumble that a Libra had managed to sneak through the casting process.

Simon declared: “Oh no, we’re really anti Libra on this show, it destroys the balance of the show” while Tim added: “Hadn’t we said, never book a Libra?”

But Lauren wasn’t left in the lurch as Holly stepped in to make her feel more at home, saying: “I’m on the show because Aquarians and Libra get on because we are air signs.”

In response, Tim countered Holly with: “The thing I read online is that your star signs hate each other,” which was swiftly rebutted by the singer: “Oh no, that’s not ‘true’.”

Tim then backtracked, implicating his internet sources. “Maybe I was on the dodgy bit of the internet, I was on the dark web,” he quipped, leading to an awkward reaction from everyone on set.

Meanwhile, over on X – the platform formerly known as Twitter – viewers expressed their thoughts, with one remarking: “Tim being on the dark web does not surprise me at all #sundaybrunch.”

Sunday Brunch is on Channel 4 Sundays from 9.30am
