Emergency services have raced to a serious crash in Edinburgh this evening.

Officers from Police Scotland closed off Dundee Street in the Dalry area after the alarm was raised at around 5.30pm on Sunday. A picture shared with Edinburgh Live showed a vehicle crashed on the road, with ambulance and fire crews in attendance.

The condition of those involved is not currently known. The street has been cordoned off in both directions at Fowler Terrace and locals have been asked to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are dealing with a serious road crash on Dundee Street, Dalry, Edinburgh. Dundee Street is closed in both directions at Fowler Terrace.

“Officers were called to the crash around 5.30pm. Alternative routes should be sought until further notice.”

Lothian Buses added: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Dundee Street and Fountainbridge and are instead diverted via West Approach Road in both directions until further notice.”
