BLUEFIELD, W. Va. -This snowy Sunday brought a Christmas concert to Bland Street United Methodist Church in Bluefield. However, these likely aren’t the Christmas carols you hear every day.
The cantata is called “Tapestry of Light: A Celtic Christmas Celebration” and features Celtic-styled songs. The church’s director of music, Marty Chaffins, says, although the music may be old-fashioned, the songs still have the power to fill audiences with the spirit of Christmas.
“I think we all have a little bit of old fashioned in us, even the young at heart do…” says Chaffins, “…We enjoy hearing songs like this that make us feel festive and joyful and look forward to Christmas Day when we can truly celebrate.”
