Motorists are being warned to expect delays on a major road in Dumfries and Galloway.

Gully clearing work is taking place every day this week on the A701, which links Dumfries with Beattock, Moffat and the M74.

The work will be carried out on the northbound side between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday to Friday at various locations between the Dalscone Roundabout and the turnoff for Beattock.

Traffic will be controlled with stop/go boards.

Inspection work is also being carried out on the A75 Dumfries bypass between the Brownfield and Bloomfield roundabouts.

This will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Monday and Tuesday and again on December 12 and 13.

Portable traffic lights will control the traffic.
