Punters did a double take when they spotted Still Game’s Boaby the Barman pulling pints in a Lanarkshire pub.
Gavin Mitchell, who plays the iconic role in the hit Scots comedy, thrilled locals with a surprise appearance at The Weavers in Strathaven ahead of his new stand-up show ‘Look Who It Isnae’ at Glassford Village Hall on Friday night.
And the star was more sociable than his Still Game character, chatting and getting selfies with fans.
The acclaimed actor and comedian took audiences on an unforgettable journey through his illustrious 30-year career in entertainment – most notably as the insufferable landlord of Craiglang watering hole The Clansman.
Gavin shared hilarious anecdotes from theatre, film, TV, and radio, divulging behind-the-scenes stories and insights.
The 59-year-old previously said he looks forward to appearing at smaller venues such as Glassford Village Hall as he finds them more intimate than massive shows such as the Glasgow Hydro.
Posting pics of the star behind the bar of popular local, The Weavers, landlady Julie Morrison said: “All you Still Game fans out there we have the one and only Boaby in doing a wee shift. The Weavers Claim To Fame. He was absolutely brilliant!”
Punters were delighted to be served by the comedy star who came in character for the stint.
Quoting one of his famous lines, one regular said: “Two pints ya p****”.
Another joked: “That’s no Boaby. That Troy the gardener.”
And one woman posted: “Love it. Have a fab night.”
