CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT/Gray News) – A 16-year-old died after hitting a bear on the road on Nov. 24 in Tennessee.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the 16-year-old was driving an older model Toyota Tacoma on Stinking Creek Road in Campbell County, Tennessee, around 8:15 p.m. when a black bear walked in front of his truck.

The teen was unable to avoid the bear and hit it with the front bumper of the truck.

The teen died and a 16-year-old passenger was injured in the crash.
