Stirling will bring in the new year in style when the city’s rugby club welcomes over 2,000 guests to ring in the bells under the iconic backdrop of the Wallace Monument.

Stirling County’s Bridgehaugh home will host the Hogmanay celebration featuring live music, fireworks and timeless Scottish traditions.

County says its new year bash – titled ‘Stirling’s Hogmanay’ – promises to be ‘an unforgettable evening to welcome 2025’.

It comes after Stirling was left without any major Hogmanay events last year, after Stirling Council opted to axe its annual celebration in a bid to save cash.

In October last year, Stirling Council announced that the event would not go ahead, with a spokesperson saying the decision had been taken “due to the unprecedented financial challenge facing the council, a situation mirrored at local authorities across Scotland”.

Taking place on Tuesday, December 31, the event will feature live music performances, breathtaking fireworks, a wide variety of delicious food and drinks, indoor entertainment and light projections that will illuminate the Wallace Monument in a spectacular display.

Jack McIlroy-Reid, General Manager of Stirling County, said: “Hosting Stirling’s Hogmanay is an incredible milestone for Stirling County Rugby Club, and we are thrilled to bring this vibrant New Year’s celebration to life.

“With the iconic Wallace Monument as our backdrop, this event showcases the very best of Stirling’s heritage and spirit. This year’s event marks an important opportunity to bring the Stirling community together, celebrating the New Year in a setting that reflects the city’s rich heritage and local pride.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £10 for children/concessions and £17.50 for adults.

Doors open from 6pm and the event runs until 2am on January 1.

The Ceilidh will run from 7pm-10pm and is suitable for the age of 14+.

Tickets are priced at £26 and can be purchased here.
