Two community organisations in Rutherglen and Cambuslang are the latest to receive grants from a South Lanarkshire Council scheme.
Members of the council’s Rutherglen and Cambuslang Area Committee approved applications from Manorway and Area Neighbourhood Watch, in Rutherglen, and Cambuslang and District Voluntary Care Club, at their most recent meeting.
The community grants scheme was established and is run by the council to fund activities and projects that bring communities together and that promote educational, recreational, leisure and other activities, or improve the local environment.
Grants are provided to organisations that come together to create, sustainable, connected communities and to help people live the healthiest and safest lives possible.
Manorway and Area Neighbourhood Watch received £300 for equipment, and Cambuslang and District Voluntary Care Club were granted £350 for entrance fees.
Support can be provided for everything from excursions and entrance fees to admin and start-up costs and special events.
