Strictly Come Dancing’s Tasha Ghouri made an appearance on Wednesday’s Lorraine, alongside her professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec.
During the chat, 26-year-old Tasha shared a mishap that occurred during Saturday’s live show. Her cochlear implant gradually came loose while she was performing her Argentine Tango to Ex-Wives from Six for Musicals Week.
It comes as Tasha and Aljaz, 34, found themselves in the dreaded dance-off on Sunday’s results show, where sadly Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe were eliminated.
Discussing the weekend’s performances, host Lorraine Kelly asked: “I didn’t realise and this is because obviously your head whips around a lot, your implant got detached in your ear, tell me what happened?”
To which Tasha responded: “Literally, there’s a move that we did and it slowly came off. I remember looking at you [Aljaz] and you could see it, we both looked at each other. I was like: ‘Ah!’.”, reports the Mirror. The exact moment during the routine was then shown on screen.
After acknowledging how ‘really difficult’ it must have been to continue dancing, Tasha confessed: “It was but you know what it’s a massive sign – don’t ever give up and keep going, that’s why I didn’t stop as the show has to go on. I have so much trust in Aljaz as well so I felt comfortable to be like: ‘Hey, we’ve got each other, let’s just keep going!'”
It comes as Tasha took to Instagram earlier this week following the dance-off, where she shared a length and heartfelt post.
The former Love Island star penned: “Being in the dance off was heartbreaking especially when it was with two beautiful people I adore inside and out @montytrackstar @johannesradebe you two danced so beautifully and every week you shined.
“I always say you overcome obstacles for a reason to come back stronger. My magnet fell off which holds the outer piece of my CI separated half way through the dance which meant I could not hear for a few seconds & I relied on Aljaž more than ever, luckily in the back bend it went back on, it threw me off which I was gutted about but the show had to go on.
“I’m proud that I carried on and didn’t let it stop me. I hope this sent a strong message to never give up and to keep going, that is my journey and I’m proud. There will be knock backs but I always stay positive and look forward with a smile on my face. Each week I’m growing, evolving and learning!
“Since week 1 I’ve seen such improvement and I still want to keep going, my heart is so in this and has been since day one @aljazskorjanec I meant what I said that every dance I get to do with you is an honour, so to dance that one with you again was for the heart and us. Semi finals let’s get it.
“@maria_tsiatsiani_official @leandropalou1 thank you for your beautiful choreography of the Argentine tango! I loved the push & the challenge this week a lot. Thank you. Ps.. please please remember this is just a fun entertainment show, we’re all here to dance, learn and bring joy – let’s be kind to one another, lift each other up and spread love!
“@gemflossi @lisadaveyhair @vickygilldesign thank you team and a huge shout out to @nataliemayparis who sang our song! She was the original six and that was a full circle moment.”
Lorraine continues on weekdays at 9am on both ITV and ITV X.
