A sinkhole has appeared in a busy Perth street closing a lane to traffic.
The hole appeared on Canal Street between Princes Street and Scott Street.
The left-hand lane opposite the vehicle exit of the Canal Street multi-storey car park has been closed to ensure safety for all road users.
Perth and Kinross Council said on social media that drivers should expect delays in Perth city centre until the repairs are completed as soon as possible .
A PKC spokesperson said: “We are currently investigating a sinkhole which appeared on Canal Street on Monday December 2.
“One lane has been closed while we determine the cause and arrange for repairs to be carried out.
“Traffic may be delayed while this work is carried out and we thank motorists and pedestrians for their patience while this work is done.”
