East Kilbride racing driver Logan Hannah has swapped a cold December morning for a sunnier climate of the F1 paddock at Yas Marina race in Abu Dhabi.

Supported by bt Away, Hannah has landed a wild card race in the all-female F1 Academy Championship, which is run by Suzie Wolff.

Logan, 22 progressed to the highly-prestigious British GB4 Championship, won that, and now has the opportunity to pitch her race craft against some of the fastest female racers in the world, as they support the final round of the Formula One Championships.

Stuart Gray, Knockhills director of events, is delighted to see Hannah stepping up from single-seater races at the Fife racetrack.

He said: “It is fantastic to see the progress of Logan in single-seater racing, as she is one of our regular instructors here at Knockhill.

“The F1 Academy gives the chance for aspiring young female racing drivers to race on the same tracks and weekends as Formula One.

“This weekend, Logan will race on a circuit she knows well, as she has raced there many times, so should be immediately up to speed.

“With three races over the weekend, I expect she will be at the sharp end, and featuring highly in the results. Hopefully this will act as a springboard for her, for bigger things in 2025.”

The races can be seen on Sky F1 and the F1 Academy YouTube channels.
