Emmerdale’s Daisy Campbell is set to bid farewell to the ITV soap as her character Amelia Spencer decides it’s time to leave. The twist in the tale is that she won’t be departing alone her father, Daz Spencer, played by Mark Jordon, is slated to make a comeback.

Mark Jordon first graced the screen as Daz back in 2014, initially joining for an extended guest run prior to securing a full-time spot from August 2017. He exited the popular show in January 2019 when Daz moved away from the village for a new opportunity in Croydon, leaving Amelia behind.

Mark is set to return to Emmerdale for a single episode as part of Amelia’s departure plot.

In a conversation with Leicestershire Live regarding her exit from the soap, Daisy remarked: “It feels really sad. It’s mixed emotions really, it’s been such a tough year and I have had to deal with so much. But I was so at peace when leaving I have grieved through it.”

Additionally, she mentioned: “I’m not only grieving for myself but also for the character that I have always played. This is my first ever job from being seven.”

Daisy shared that her character Amelia will receive an “emotional goodbye” and confirmed Mark’s reappearance on the show after five years away.

Describing the experience, she said: “It was weird because we film in two week blocks, so the first week was really emotional because Mark Jordon, Daz, comes back so it was lovely to see him again. So that really emotional.

“Whenever I work with Laura, who plays Kerry, she’s so good at doing emotions so when she cries I cry. But then the second week, I think I was used to it because I was really dreading it my last block, because I hate crying in front of people unless it’s for a scene.”

In upcoming episodes, Amelia will declare her intentions to leave the village, which prompts Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) to hurriedly organise a farewell bash. However, Amelia is left feeling despondent when Kerry doesn’t appear.

Later on, an emotional Amelia prepares to depart, leaving audiences to wonder if Kerry will allow her to go without a proper send-off. Daisy has disclosed that Amelia will indeed exit the village to join her father.

She recounted: “I end up going to live back with Daz in Leicester. We had a scene where I had to say ‘I’m going to live in Leicester with Esther’ but I couldn’t say it!

“But I end up moving back with Daz, which is nice. He comes back for one episode.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX.
