HONAKER, Va. – The first “White Christmas Softball Tournament” is set for Saturday in Honaker, Va. and organizers say they hope the fundraiser will become an annual event.
Kenny Hicks is the organizer and he said it’s an all-adult tournament with seven guys and three ladies on each of the six teams participating. The weather is not a factor, he added, because they are all adults and ready to play.
Money is raised for the tournament’s Angel Tree and each team will donate $140 and each player will bring one new unopened toy.
Hicks said some of the players will also help with shopping for kids from the Angel Tree to make sure they all have presents
The games will be played at the Honaker Little League Fields.
Anyone wanting more information or who may want to enter a team or make a donation can call Hicks at 276-210-1158.
