Two males have been snared by Scots cops as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour. Action was taken against the suspects following an operation in Ayrshire.

Police Scotland said the developments came following an exercise carried out by officers from Annick Locality Policing Team in Stewarton.

During last week’s operation, suspicion fell on a 30-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, with one being charged and the other arrested.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, officers carried out patrols targeting anti-social behaviour in the area in question, including ensuring licensed premises were operating safely and legally.

The 30-year-old was charged with alleged licensing offences, including selling alcohol to someone under 18. Police Scotland said a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Prosecutors from the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service will then decide whether action should be taken against the man over the alleged offences.

A 17-year-old male youth was arrested in connection with attempting to pervert the course of justice and officers say enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.

Constable Andy Milne said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing and officers are committed to disrupting any form of anti-social behaviour in our communities.

“We are working together with partners to ensure appropriate measures are in place to deter such activity and to keep local people safe. Members of the community are reminded and encouraged to continue reporting all concerns via 101/Contactus.”
