Connor Barron has been a key cog in Philippe Clement’s side and instrumental to Rangers‘recent revival.

But the fact that the Light Blues and Aberdeen have yet to strike a compensation figure is no surprise to one caller. Alan Burrows revealed at the club AGM that the club are growing frustrated and impatient with the SPFL over the situation. With a figure yet to be thrashed out, one punter made a quip about looking for spare change behind the couches at Ibrox.

Neil Renton, Leith, said: “It’s no surprise that the compensation fee that Rangers are due Aberdeen for Connor Barron still hasn’t been decided. The SPFL are clearly going easy on their skint pals in Glasgow. I’m shocked that the officials haven’t gone along to Ibrox to see what spare change they can find down the back of the sofas before setting the amount.”

It’s a big midweek of European action for three of our sides. Celtic face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League before Ange Postecoglou makes his big return to Glasgow to face Rangers at Ibrox with Hearts also on the road. The Battle of Britain clash – one of two for the Ibrox side – caught the eye as soon as the draw was made. Jim MacLean, Rothesay: “Another emphatic victory by Rangers has got them beating Spurs and Celtic by there deluded fans, there last three victories have been against bottom six teams, two lucky goals on Sunday and another by their right-back who is certain that they are back on track!! Philippe Clement won’t be there after the pantomime season and Xmas. Ho ho ho.

Alan Flett emailed: “Celtic fans think they’re up against the best in the UCL? Who would they rather be playing this week? The mighty Dinamo Zagreb, or Spurs? How ironic that Rangers’ EL opponents are better than the dross Celtic are up against in the UCL.”

Robert Pender emailed: “Very difficult for Rangers. Spurs are hurting from the backlash from their defeat to Chelsea. The speed of their attacking gives cause for concern.”

George Wilson, West Sussex: “Poor old Rangers obsessed Gordon Ashley is at it again. Despite telling us repeatedly all season Rangers pose no threat to Celtic he can’t help talking about us at every opportunity. He’s now trying to belittle the Rangers v Spurs match saying nobody will be watching.

“Well I can guarantee you two people will be watching this Battle of Britain clash. I will be watching and Mr Ashley will be watching as he won’t be able to resist seeing another opportunity to put us down.

“None of the three are at their best this season but Rangers against Spurs and Man Utd grabs the nation much more than Aston Villa v Celtic which is in comparison very low key and will only be watched by their own supporters as nobody else is interested . People across Britain are also much more interested in this weeks Rangers v Celtic than Aston Villa v Celtic.”

Regular Scott Gowers was called out over his Kyogo comments and told it smells of desperation with both the Dons and match officials PRAISED. Brian McColligan, emailed: “Yesterday’s caller Scott Gowers comments are reeking of desperation calling out Kyogo’s coming together with the Aberdeen keeper. Two committed players going for a ball in a contact sport. Well done Aberdeen and the referee for seeing it for what it was, not even a booking.”
