UNION, W.Va. – A pedestrian incident claimed the life of a Monroe County man Monday morning in Gap Mills.

West Virginia State Police Trooper R.M. Lindsey said the man was a worker on a garbage collection truck and was struck by a vehicle when he had left the truck.

The incident happened between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Lindsey said no further details can be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
